At Brisbane Consulting Group we specialize in the valuation of closely held businesses, litigation support, financial aspects of divorce, quantifying economic damages and insurance claims. Our valuation professionals have attained the most prestigious valuation designations in the profession. We are well qualified to assist attorneys in detecting unreported income and assets, settlement and mediation of financially contested issues, providing expert testimony at trial, and assessing the tax consequences of divorce as it relates to various forms of equitable distribution and spousal support. Our business valuation services include:
Business Valuation
All of our business valuations conform to the standards promulgated by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Our staff is highly qualified with designations in finance, accounting and the valuation discipline.
- A Complete Valuation will provide an unambiguous indication of value and includes an in-depth analysis of the subject company, its industry, financial condition, earning capacity and the national and local economy. It is the recommended choice for all valuations that may be scrutinized in litigation.
- A Limited Valuation is less than the complete valuation in that certain procedures required for a complete valuation are not performed. A limited valuation can be very helpful to attorneys to get a possible range of value or to assist in determining if a complete valuation is cost beneficial. Limited valuations are less expensive and are performed more expeditiously.
- A Review Valuation comments on the overall assumptions, methodologies and procedures employed by an opposing expert. In some cases, we are asked to provide alternative value conclusions when a flawed assumption or inappropriate methodology is corrected. Many attorneys find this service extremely useful in settlement negotiations.
License/Degree Valuation
In the wake of several landmark cases, the valuation of a professional license, degree or certification earned during the marriage is often the most valuable asset of the marital estate. At Brisbane Consulting Group, we perform the valuation of enhanced earning capacity on an individualized basis analyzing the expected earnings with and without the license/degree and assessing the relevant risk of maintaining the expected earnings throughout the subject's remaining work life.
