Lumsden & McCormick is proud to be one of the largest certified public accounting firms in Western New York. Begun in 1952 by Stewart H. Lathan and Charles L. Lumsden, the small accounting office was joined a few years later by Richard B. McCormick. Then known as Lathan, Lumsden & McCormick, the Firm has since enjoyed tremendous growth, becoming what is known today as Lumsden & McCormick, LLP.

Today, our 11 partners and over 70 professionals and administrative staff are proud to serve our clients in the Western New York Community, throughout New York State, along the East Coast and in Canada. We are a full service certified public accounting firm providing a wide range of services including auditing and accounting, corporate and personal tax planning, international taxation and financial planning from our headquarters in the Brisbane Building in downtown Buffalo. Our clients include closely held and publicly held businesses, individuals, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and municipalities.

Membership requires us to maintain strict adherence to professional quality control standards and submit to a peer review of our control policies and procedures to demonstrate that adherence. Our peer review in 2006 and all other prior years resulted in unmodified reports.

We are also a member of AGN International, Ltd., an association of separate and independent accounting firms located worldwide. Its main purpose is to share the professional knowledge and resources of its members.
